Happy Momday Celebrating Grandma Gail

Yesterday, we attended a Celebration of Life for a special lady, “Grandma Gail” Kloeppel. Family and friends gathered to remember someone who will be greatly missed. She is survived by many who loved her, including my son-in-law. I have not lost a parent but can imagine his sorrow and my heart breaks for his loss. A mother’s love is everlasting and I know Dan feels this.

My heart is also sad for our sweet Em, as she has lost a grandmother. The time we have on God’s earth is short, but the time we have with grandparents is even shorter. Emerson was cheated. Gail loved books but Em won’t get to sit in the sunshine and read with her. They won’t get to attend the Muny together as planned. She will miss out on family get-togethers and holidays with Grandma Gail. But what she won’t lack is the abundance of stories and wonderful memories of Grandma Gail that will be shared. Her favorite color was pink. She loved to work in her yard and have dinner with friends. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, Natalie, and visiting new places. She loved her family, especially her son and granddaughter, and her home was filled with pictures of such. Gail will forever be in everyone’s hearts.

In loving memory of Gail Allison Newhouse Kloeppel.

Though her smile is gone forever

and her hand I cannot touch,

I still have so many memories

of the one I loved so much.
