Happy Momday & Birthday Eve to the Lappe Twins
Happy birthday eve to the Lappe twins! It seems like yesterday you girls decided to arrive five weeks early and bless our lives. Fun facts about 1991:
Father of the Bride and Beauty and the Beast were high-grossing films
Capri Suns, Bagel Bites, Gushers, and Dunk-a-Roos were food/drink trends
Super Nintendo cost $199.95
I Spy: A Book of Picture Riddles was a best-selling book
Full House was a popular tv show
These took me back to your childhood on Sequoia and made me smile…and tear up. Sitting on the couch cheering dad while he played Mario Cart for you. Spying hidden items among the pages of a fun book. Watching VHS tapes repeatedly. Going on adventures with the Olsen twins. Packing Little Mermaid lunch boxes with favorite snacks (or sharing with Maddie ;).
Now that you are grown, I am glad you feel comfortable to grab a snack or beverage without asking. I am glad you like to hang on the couch and watch old movies or just talk. I am glad you still come through the door without knocking—our door will forever be open. You make us proud and I love you both from the bottom of my heart to the moon and back. It might be your birthday, but you are my greatest gift and I feel privileged to be your mother!
Happy Momday and I hope that your special day brings you lots of love, happiness, and tacos!
~Momma Lappe
I’ll love you forever,
I’ll like you for always,
As long as I’m living
my baby you’ll be.
