Happy Mom (& Pi) Day!

Happy Momday! And happy National Pi Day, too!

Every year on March 14, the world celebrates Pi Day to recognize the mathematical constant, Pi. It is observed on March 14 because 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant digits. Albert Einstein was born on this day and celebrations often involve eating pie. But enough fun facts.

When I was a young girl, I was a VERY picky eater. My mom tirelessly spread peanut butter on Cheez-Its to make tiny cracker sandwiches for my lunch…daily. Cereal was my best friend. I didn't even like pizza, gasp!

Knowing this, my sweet Grandma Carrie always fixed foods (namely sweets ;) that I would eat - what I remember the most is her homemade chocolate pie. This wasn't just yummy goodness in a circle, but rather her love for me by taking the time to do something special (isn't that what grandmas do?!). Such a delightful memory!

So today, on National Pi Day, I challenge you to a pie eating contest. Just kidding…

I challenge you to create a happy memory for a family member, friend, neighbor, or even a stranger. Baking not required but thoughtfulness is. Your stomach might not get full but your heart will be!
